Energy
The Golf Resource Group entered the energy business in 2004 when the country's first and only energy efficiency program for golf development was accepted by Southern California Edison utility company.
Since then, GRG has worked with dozens of golf developments to research, test, and identify energy and fiscal savings opportunities. We rely on our background in golf course design, construction and management, along with our experience working with a variety of utility companies and their programs, to assist any sized golf development in reaching their maximum level of energy efficiency.
Our Process
Our process begins by completely assessing the entire golf facility, researching the utility billing history and use data, appropriate utility-funded incentive programs, and assisting to develop realistic savings goals. We provide a complete engineered analysis of all aspects of the energy using components inside your facility. Every assessment considers the feasibility of renewable energy, whether it's solar, wind or geo-thermal power. We do, however, stress an "Efficiency First!" mantra before moving towards renewable energy projects. Why pay to produce power for wasted energy?
Resource Management Savings Goals Example
Our analysis covers the following areas:
The Golf Course
- The irrigation pumping system and related wells and water services
- The irrigation system's central control computer and programming
The Clubhouse and adjoining buildings
- Lighting systems and controls
- Heating and cooling systems
- Cart charging
- Kitchen components
Our work ends by facilitating all proposed work, including project management and acquiring all rebate dollars and incentives on behalf of the client.

Key Benefits
- Understanding your energy use will prepare your facility for the changes that are planned within the energy business.
- Once maximum efficiency is achieved, a facility can then look to eliminate their use through the integration of renewable energy, further reaping the financial benefit of lower energy bills.
- On top of the obvious dollar savings attributed to energy efficiency, courses will realize the environmental benefit of integrating sustainable practices into their business.
